Abstract:
The article analyzes the analysis of the assumptions about the proportionality of imports. The aim of the study is to quantify the uncertainty arising from the assumption of proportionality of imports for the four main ecological footprints of different regions and industries represented in the MRIO EXIOBASE database. We randomize the global import flows using an algorithm that randomly distributes the imported goods to the blocks of the target sectors of the importing region, while maintaining a trade balance.
