Abstract:
The article analyzes the features of the policy aimed at protecting household incomes in April and May 20XX. The results show that households lost a significant share of their net income, on average 6.9%. The results also suggest that policies have largely protected household income: Compared to the fall in net income, GDP per capita fell 18.9% between the first and second quarters of 20XX. The earnings subsidy (Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme) protected household finances and provided a basic insurance mechanism during the crisis.
