Abstract:
COVID-19 has significant implications for the educational process. The article analyzes the consequences of the lockdown during their transmission from generation to generation in 17 countries of Latin America. The results provide detailed information on school lockdowns and policies adopted to support learning from home in each country. In addition, based on the results, conclusions can be drawn about the impact of the pandemic on schooling levels and intergenerational associations. The results also show that while mitigation policies have been able to partially reduce learning losses in some countries, the educational attainment of the most vulnerable can be severely affected.
