Abstract:
The article analyzes mortality rates before and during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The results show that over the study period from March to May 20XX, increased mortality was found only among people aged 65 and over. However, given the high inequality in mortality during normal times, the income gradient in all-cause mortality is only marginally steeper during the peak of the health crisis, in relative terms.
