Abstract:
The article analyzes the importance of forums and IRCCCs for EU climate diplomacy. The study is based on a qualitative coding method for Council Conclusions related to multilateral climate diplomacy (1994–20XX). The results of the study show that the EU is indeed responding, albeit to varying degrees, to the evolution of the IRCCC. In addition, the EU is more responsive to forums in some policy areas than in others, although the degree of reciprocity of this importance outside the context of the UNFCCC is questioned.
