Abstract:
In education, research supervisors have the power to interfere with the work of students at any point, which students may perceive negatively. We hypothesize that giving students the choice to design their own research experience and support them throughout will encourage them to go beyond their limits and will enable better knowledge acquisition. This study aims to determine when, why and under which circumstances, the supervisors involvement causes a negative/positive response among project participants, and to determine the extent of autonomy required.
