Abstract:
Thi study explores different ways of enacting performance-based accountability (PBA) in education. We explore how different accountability system designs and configurations are enacted in different contexts and their intended or unintended consequences for the teaching profession and school practices. We also analyse how school actors make sense of, experience and translate new policy demands as well as how they respond to performative pressure.
Keywords:
performance-based accountability; sense-making and enactment
