Abstract:
The article uses critical discourse analysis to review the structure of beliefs associated with cold and damp housing in New Zealand (New Zealand) and finds that there is a strong structure of beliefs in the New Zealand psyche that cold and damp housing is associated with poor health outcomes. This belief structure has led to recent changes in New Zealand law to ensure that healthy rental housing is provided under the Healthy Home Guarantee Act.
