Abstract:
The article analyzes the relationship between the Oscars and filmmaking. Panel data is used for 53 countries for the period 20XX - 20XX. The results of the full sample evaluation show a positive association between Oscar-winning and filmmaking. Subsampled results indicate that the Oscar wins Best Foreign Language Film (BFLF), and nominations in the four main categories (Best Film, Actor, Actress and Director) are positively correlated with film production for the intermediate sample. countries of income.
