Abstract:
This study explores the extent of, and recorded barriers to, palliative care delivery in different neuro-intensive care units. A retrospective chart review of patients revealed that some patients had never been referred to palliative care services and some were referred with delay. The study highlights the missed opportunities for patients to receive maximum benefits from palliative care services.
