Abstract:
In the study, we explore the role of national culture in firms choices between bank debt and public debt. The results show that the cultural aspects of Schwartz determine the choice of debt by firms. In addition, the results show that egalitarianism has a negative and significant association with bank debt financing, while embeddedness has a positive and significant association with it.
