Abstract:
In this study, we looked into the possible causes of the outbreak of mucormycosis in COVID-19 patients. Among them are diabetes mellitus, steroid overdose, high iron levels, and immunosuppression. When combined with other factors, such as unhygienic conditions, prolonged hospitalization, use of ventilators, and leaky humidifiers in oxygen cylinders, they create a favourable platform for developing mucormycosis.
